We have recently started a Welsh Genealogy Group to help anyone interested in tracing their Welsh roots.

We plan to have guest speakers and information available to start searches for long lost relatives.

2009 Spring Gymanfa Ganu

Sunday April 26th, 2009 at 2:30pm at The Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church, 744 Fair Oaks Avenue, Oak Park, IL 60302. The conductor this year will be the Rev Joe Corbin from Wisconsin and the organist will be our own Dianne McCarty. Doors open at 1:30pm so come early and say hello. Pass the word along to your friends. A Te Bach (small tea) will follow with cakes, sandwiches and, of course, tea. The Annual Welsh Picnic - Spring 2009

The Cambrian picnic was a highlight of the year for many of the Welsh families who settled in Chicago in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Since its inception in 1869 it has continued to provide good fellowship and good fun for the families who come and bring their picnic lunches and lawn chairs out for a summer afternoon in the park.
